Colin Marsh Trophy 2025

Congratulations to Mike Knaggs, Glenn Stephenson and Dave Mawson on winning the Colin Marsh Trophy on Saturday.

Colin Marsh was Shirley Harris’s father who was a member of the club from the mid seventies until he died very suddenly in 1984 at the young age of 54.

He lived and worked in the village, working as a baker in his younger days, a part-time barman in the Ship Inn and was the local postman when he died.

He was a very active and well respected member of the club encouraging both Shirley & David to join as well as other relatives. He joined the committee and was men's captain when he died.

A few members will remember him always having a smile on his face and giving encouragement to even the newest members.

It was a great day and I’m sure everyone will agree they thoroughly enjoyed themselves.

Thanks to all who made this event possible, Steve for prepping the green, Judy for the competition organising and not forgetting Shirley Harris for the wonderful High Tea she provided for us all to enjoy.

Check out our selection of photos, even our newly formed ‘crutch’ club!
